TCRP – Odessa Tribute to Our Veterans – Feb. 22, 2014

THANK YOU for a wonderful event!

Our West Texas Gala has different themes every year that celebrate a human rights issue, and honors individuals in our community who have been true advocates for the individuals we serve. The theme for our next gala will be a Tribute to our Veterans. All proceeds will benefit our West Texas Justice for Veterans Campaign.

Jose E. Coll, PhD

Dr. Jose E. Coll, PhD  joined the faculty of Saint Leo University in the summer of 2011 to establish and direct the Office of Veteran Student Services which serves over 2,600 veteran and military students per semester. As a Marine Corps Veteran, Dr. Coll is acutely aware of the needs and struggles faced by our military personnel and their families.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Coll was at the University of Southern California, School of Social Work as Director of the San Diego Academic Center Military Social Work program. Dr. Coll received his Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from the University of South Florida and is a graduate from the Harvard Management Development Program (MDP). He is also the recipient of numerous awards for research and publications.

His research interests are predominately on the development of worldviews and its relationship to cognitive development and cognitive complexities, underage college substance abuse, and counseling practices with veterans and families. Dr. Coll is the author of numerous articles and coauthor of the books “A Civilian Counselors Primer for Counseling Veterans” Linus Publications and “Handbook of Military Social Work” Wiley and Sons Publications.
